Everyman
Everyman is a morality play. Everyman is an allegorical figure, obviously referring to every man - geddit? - and he is visited by Death, who tells him he's gonna dies pretty soon. Everyman is freaked and begs Death to give him more time, but Death says "sorry, no can do, but hey Everyman, you can find someone to accompany you through Death." So Everyman runs into a bunch of other allegorical figures - Fellowship, Kindred, Beauty, Strength, Five Wits, etc.- but they all decline to follow him to the end of his journey, except for Good Deeds. So the moral of the story is, everything's going to abandon you when you die, except the good deeds you've done during your life.
